Sarah’s Heart Foundation Visits The Nook: A Day of Learning, Laughter, and Cultural Discovery

The Nook by UAIER recently played host to children and facilitators from Sarah’s Heart Foundation in what turned out to be a joyful and enriching visit, sponsored by Uyai Akwa Ibom Educational Resources. The event was a beautiful blend of education, fun, and cultural exploration — a testament to the power of community partnerships in supporting early childhood development and literacy.

Upon arrival, the children were warmly welcomed into the colorful, book-filled space at The Nook, where they engaged in reading sessions, storytelling, and interactive games. With over 500 books available in both English and Ibibio, the children had a chance to explore new stories while connecting with the indigenous language and cultural identity of Akwa Ibom State.

The experience went beyond reading. A variety of engaging activities were organized — from puzzles and learning games to language-based challenges. One of the most exciting moments was the Ibibio Word Challenge, where children learned local phrases and expressions in a playful setting. These sessions not only sparked interest in indigenous language learning but also built confidence and curiosity among the young participants.

Speaking after the visit, a representative from Sarah’s Heart Foundation expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity:

“This was more than just a visit; it was an unforgettable experience for our children. The Nook provided a safe, inspiring space for them to read, learn, and most importantly, have fun. We are especially grateful to Uyai Akwa Ibom for sponsoring this opportunity and investing in the future of our children.”

Uyai Akwa Ibom, through its sponsorship, continues to support initiatives that promote literacy, cultural heritage, and child-centered learning across the state. The organization is committed to creating inclusive and engaging educational resources for children, particularly through projects like The Nook, which remains open to schools, foundations, and families.

The team at The Nook by UAIER is proud to have hosted Sarah’s Heart Foundation and looks forward to welcoming more groups for similar visits that inspire learning and foster a love for reading.
