We are an aunt-uncle-niece trio, who started Uyai Akwa Ibom because we are so passionate about our rich culture and want to be a part of sharing it with the world.
We started Ikọ ibibio series because we noticed that other languages - Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo - had language books with characters for kids that they can relate to, but there really weren't any in ibibio. Together we began writing the Ikọ ibibio series in order to encourage kids and adults to learn the ibibio language.

Our mission is to educate people about the rich and vibrant Akwa Ibom culture, one person at a time.

Our Vision

We envision a world where our language, our customs, our food and our people are celebrated globally. That starts with us and with the most foundational aspect of culture - language.
